Few experiences rival watching the sun dip behind Scotland’s most beloved landscapes, and Conic Hill delivers exactly that. This TikTok post shows what you can expect if you catch it at the right time.

Base yourself at Lomond Luxury Lodges, we’re only a short drive to the start of the Conic Hill walk.
The walk begins at the Balmaha Car Park, where clear signage marks the start of the trail on the eastern shore of Loch Lomond. From here, the well-trodden path rises steadily through woodland before opening onto grassy slopes toward the summit. The final section is a little steeper and rewards the effort with ever-expanding, spectacular views. The hike typically takes 1–2 hours depending on your pace, and is suitable for most abilities.
From the summit, you’ll be treated to sweeping vistas over Loch Lomond, Ben Lomond, and the surrounding Highland Boundary Fault landscape. Time your climb for the afternoon, reach the top as the sky begins to glow in the golden-hour light, and linger for an unforgettable sunset to unfold. Afterwards, before it gets dark, enjoy a gentle descent returning to your lodge for a relaxing soak in your private hot tub. What a perfect, well-earned, ending to an exceptional day.
